horse hair dye?

She has a black salt and pepper type mane. I was wondering if there is any sort of specialized dye I could use on her mane and tail that will black it out, or if the quick black shampoo would do any good? Or what about show paint spray stuff I've heard about, is that for mane and tail use or just body and legs?

I have a shoot on Sunday themed on a list by Horse Illustrated Magazine and I'd like her mane and tail to be all one color if possible. She's way more black then anything else but it would be nice to even it out. What has worked for you?

I added a picture. Her mane was a bit dusty but the color is still there, outside it looks like there is more black.

Ps: David (boyfriend) is on her after figuring out how to swing himself up from the ground on the 4th try!!!! No fair. One of the boarding students offered to hold her while I took the picture.

You can use pet safe dyes like this PetEdge: Top Performance Hair Dye Gels. I wouldnt use a spray for pictures, might not look right.

If anything take a mascara wand and non waterproof black mascara and comb it through the top layer of the mane, just to cover up the light color. Then take a normal brush and brush it to even it out and blend it...cheap and fast.

Can I get that at any pet or Tack store do you think? If I can I'll get some tomorrow
