How do you do this braid?


I can't find anything about it, and I don't know what its called, but its really beautiful!

Does anybody know how you go about doing this type of braid?

Its a running braid.

yes, its like.... like a french braid, but your only adding hair on one side. I hope that's clear. Lol. :)

God created Quarter Horses, then he Painted the good ones! ;)

It's called a running, or Spanish, braid. We do it on my friend's mare when we feel like making her purrty, because it's so long.

That's my favorite braid ! :) It's really easy once you get used to it. And it makes your horses feel good when it's hot out! Especially if they have a super long thick mane!

You're right! The braid kinda looks 'separate' in that pic, doesn't it? Usually doesn't look like that... hmmm.. wonder which way is the right way? I think the photo is very nice. If it were a little tighter/neater I think it would be very, very nice.

I can do the inside-out French braid on myself, just can't do a regular one. Would be interesting to try it on the horse.

After looking at pictures of braids I've done... it would appear I suck, and I've been doing a little mixture of both types... LOL
