Default How to grow hair back fast?

I'm taking a gelding to a sale on friday, but he has a few old bite marks where other horses have gotten him. It's healed over but there's still no hair back yet. Any tricks on getting hair to grow back fast? And sense I doubt that his hair will grow back completely by friday, does anybody know any dyes or cover-ups that I could use?

Horses, like humans do not grow hair any faster than they are genetically made. Just like your hair and nails it is the same. There is no trick to actually make hair grow faster. Sorry ; ( As for the tricks you can try the spray on hair they sell on TV for men. Not sure where you can pick this up tho. Maybe some shoe polish?? Not sure if that would irritate the horse tho. Most buyers at sale will expect some bite marks and they shouldn't affect the horses preformance. Good luck at the sale : )

I would not cover them up at all. If the buyer notices, they might wonder what else you may be trying to cover up.

Simply be up front with them and mention he's not the big dog out in the herd. A horse person certainly will understand that.

You could use a dab or two of MTG

I've always been told MTG: http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.h...9-1d059477370f . I haven't used it myself yet, but I bought a bottle last week.

They make spray paint for horses too. I think its made by shapleys called touch up spray. Works great. I use it at shows on my gelding and its great for covering up scars or blemishes, but I agree with what was said previously. I wouldn't try to cover it up. I would bath clip and show sheen him up tho :)
