How long is too long?

I want to plait Blu's mane for English. How long is too long. He has a fairly long mane...

Here's my plans for a show: I want to plait Blu's mane and tail then use hair spray paint stuff to make it blue to match my apparel and his blankets. What do you think?

I don't want to cut his mane all the same length either! Lol.

Wow, Blu is a beautiful horse!! I love his head...he's got such soft looking friendly eyes...

Back to the topic, I really do think his mane is a bit too long to plait 'professionally'. You could do it, but I think the plaits would turn out too big and lumpy.

Plaiting does require a shorter mane for that 'perfect' look (usually). My guess would be around a 3-4 in mane (that's my guess).

Maybe you could try and braid down the middle instead?

Painting his mane to match your tack would look cute!

His mane needs to be shorter I believe and it would be more professional to cut it all one length, and personally I wouldn't paint the mane blue.

I agree with Harlee. Painting the mane to match tack would be tacky and just silly I think.
