Kittenval,
I used to run a hose from the basement sink out the door to wash. I finally had a shower valve installed just inside the door, with a frost free valve through the wall. I can now adjust the water temp right inside the door, and have plenty of hot water.

Umm well I take flasks/thermos of hot water up or I have a container which plugs into the cigarette lighter plug in my car. There handy!
