How Much Should I Pay A Freelance Show Groom Per Day?

I have had a few quotes but they seem expensive, and was hoping I could hear your thoughts, thank you!

Do you mean for full service? A 'do whatever you say' groom? Yep, I'd say good money. I know I wouldn't take less than $60, and they'd have to haul me to the show. I don't know if I'd make them take me out to dinner... But I don't know. I'd probably ask $70, + a ride there.

I got paid $50 a day, plus money for food, and accommodations because most shows were away from home and 3 to 7 days long. Showing 4 to 8 horses, I groomed/braided, cleaned stalls, tack, fed, and help tack up, but these were shown in harness and the driver preferred to harness, himself.

I would expect more now, looking back I slept in stalls, trucks and awful cots that killed my back, and show food gives me heart burn like no ones business.
