Lycra sheets, what do you think?

Before now I've only ever used the hoods for keeping braids in for horse showing and for turn out on clipped horses, but I just bought new full sheets and tail bags for all three of my horses. I've never used them so I was wondering, do you like them, use them? Opinions?

Also, if you're interested
Horseloverz.com is having a HUGE lycra close out sale (I went a little crazy with the spending.)

Hoods = $12
Full sheets = $25
Shoulder guards = $10
Tail bags = $1
Braid tail wraps = $3

I have tons and I LOVE them!!!! I have all colors of the rainbow. They keep the horses coat slick and shiny. After you give them a bath let them get mostly dry and put the full body sheet and neck cover on them. No matter what they can't get dirty. My mare used to go roll in mud after her bath (a corner in her paddock stayed muddy) and we would take the sheet off the next day and she would still be spottless.

Watch out - I am about to get controversial. :)

I cannot imagine a more uncomfortable thing to wear, and I would not put one on my horse. If it took me getting up at 4am to bathe my horse, I would do that before making him wear one of these.
Of course, I am not a horse and have no idea how uncomfortable they are, but I can imagine that I would not want to wear a human equivalent.

Very true, it wouldnt be fun in the summer. In the winter I would love it but the summer it gets too hot for anything to be on them no matter how much it breathes.

I don't know. My horse never seems to mind the hood at all. He even lets me cover his eyes with it.

I wouldn't say anything fits unnaturally tight and it stretches. I don't think it would be much different from a person wearing a leotard or tights.

Yeah I have never had a problem putting it over my horses face. She is one of those horses the would let you know if she didn't like something.

I have always liked them. I have never used the body sheets, but I have a shoulder guard in almost every color. Even Primo doesn't mind me putting one on. Though it's usually pretty funny (I'll have to video tape the next time I use one), I can never get the eye and ear holes right. Lol. I'm thinking about a body sheet for the winter events.

I love them. Thanks to the OP for the tip, btw!

As far as how comfortable they are, I always compared them to Spandex. And I love my Spandex so... But I suppose it's matter of what certain horses (and people) like and are used to.
