Making a Grooming Kit

Hey guys! I wanted to make this topic similar to the Vet Kit one. I figure this could be very useful to people who are new to horses, and are taking lessons, leasing, prospective buyers, and even owners! Im going to need your help on this one big time, since my grooming kit is very quaint, lol.

Essentials:
Stiff bristled Brush
Medium (stiff/soft) Brush
Soft Brush (for polishing and the face)
Sweat Scraper (Plastic or Metal)
Hoofpicks (yes, plural, as they are very easy to lose!)
Mane Comb/Hair Brush
Curry Comb (Metal or Plastic)

Luxuries:
Fly Spray (aloe vera/non toxic to rub around the face)
Fly Spray (more potent stuff for the legs and body)
Show Sheen (for the Mane and Tail)
Sunscreen (not a luxury, but only horses with pink noses need it)

Bath Time:
Bucket (any size, for putting soap/water in)
Rubber Curry Comb
Shampoo (Any Kind)
Conditioner (Any Kind)
Sponge/Wash Cloth (for washing the face)
All Plastic Brush (No wooden handles!)
Sweat Scraper
Plastic Comb/Brush (detangling mane/tail)
Show Sheen (to keep that coat slick!)

Cowboy Magic!!! It's the best mane and tail detangler.

Gold Nugget Super Whitening Shampoo - The best whitening shampoo I've ever used (it made Cassey white in one wash!!), it's alot better then Quic Silver, and after you've used it it feels like you just put cowboy magic in their manes.

Some type of Rain-rot shampoo
Thrush Bomb- Great for treating thrush
Shed' N 'blade

Slick' N 'easy (i think that's the name) you can get it at the co-op, it's really great at getting the dirt and shed off of them. It's a square black block, I ALWAYS have one
I also have a small soft brush for their faces.
Peppermints for treats!!

I think you listed everything I use, with the exception of clippers and scissors. And of course the Cowboy Magic as was mentioned.
I also have a grooming collar in mine. Makes it easier to do the face and bridle path than a halter.
I was glad to read the suggestion of the Gold Nugget Shampoo. Can't wait to try that this year. I've always used Quic Silver.
Oh - I forgot - couldn't be without my MTG. That stuff is wonderful as well.

Ok this may sound weird but you folks who have horses that live outside will appreciate this one: I keep a big tupperware container or sawdust in my tack trunk for when my horses come in covered with mud. Just rub a little on, let it set for a few minutes and then brush it off. Instant clean! It's great for when it's too cold or you don't have time for a bath.

Sawdust? Wow! I might have to try that, because Jet comes in alot of times covered in mud, because his favorite thing to do is ROLL!!

Just any old saw dust?

* I keep baby lotion in my grooming box, just incase they get a wound and after it scabs, it needs to be softened up....

Im guessin clean saw dust lol, or do you mean any brand? Lol I thought you were on about clean or used?

Sounds a good idea, where did you get that one from?

What about baby wipes more hygenic than sponges make sure they are unscented though

I have heard that using a baby wipe does work and makes the horses cleaner
