A mane that never ends - help!

My mare has a giant mane. It's long, thick, beautiful. How can I make sure it stays that way? She's outside 24/7, any tips?

Thanks!

Coconut oil in it, then braid it. That's how I kept my horse's shoulder length thick mane maintained. He looked pretty with the long braids too :P
