thanks for all your input i just might try to thin it a little it is pretty thick i want to wash it but that is not possible right now it has been down in the teens here so what do you guys think of me using the MTG stuff should i stop using it?

you pretty much just pull the mane but underneath the top layer in most cases.

I think so, I've never looked at "human" thinning shears if they are different. I've only bought mine at the tack store. I don't see why they would be different, though.

I found a useful step by step process with pictures so that it makes it easy for you :)
