Manes for Gymkhana?

When you do gymkhana events, do you do anything to your horses mane? Any banding or maybe a braid? I'd like to keep it neat and out of the way since it's long. I like long manes and I don't think the owners of the horse would like it cut anyway. Lol Have you ever banded a long mane? Have any pictures?

Here are pictures of the said mane:

no for gymkhana we all(my group) usually leave it alone or put them in normal braids if it is getting in the way which my new mares does so I keep her in braids whenever I ride

just a small town girl with a big town dream :]

Thank you. I could just separate into some braids.

Anyone else? :)

I do a lot of gymkhanas and my horse's mane is really long so I just chuck it in to a running braid. Takes 5 minutes and it's out of the way and looks nice.

For gymkhana/contesting, I leave it natural. I've seen people do a diamond braid, but I've never seen anyone band the mane specifically for gymkhana.

I find most people keep it as is. But if it is very long and you feel it would be much nicer for you and your horse out of the way you could do just normal braids or a running braid. It honestly doesn't matter I guess its just matter of opinion.

every horse deserves to be loved by a little girl

Thank you everyone. :) I'll try a running braid and see how it looks on her. They do look rather pretty. Or I could make my mom do it... lol I'm really only good a basic braids. Ha XD
