Merlins Long Mane - Pull or leave?

So, as you can see my horse Merlin has an incredibly long mane. It doesnt tangle too much but it gets in the way when I am riding and its supposed to be a really hot summer here. Should I pull it or leave it long and braid it up? At the same time I love his flowing mane, I do like the neat look of a pulled one too!
Pull, or leave long?

Personally I loove long manes so my vote is to leave it long and braid it up. For riding I usually just do a running braid and for out in the field or standing around Id do regular braids :). He's gorgeous

I think you should leave it. His mane is so pretty! I wish my horse had a mane like that!

I would leave it - if not for optic (I guess tastes are different) then for protection against flies. And isn't it fun for you playing with a long mare? ;)

Leave it, it looks pretty =]
I personally don't like the look of pulled manes and I do hunters with my horse; luckily, he's an Arab so I don't have to pull it ;]

I think he would look better with a short mane, personally.

This is what happens when you have democrats in office

I'd trim/pull it just enough to even it out and then let it grow out with periodic trimming to keep it tidy.
franknbeans and Mintkitten like this.

Leave it long! I LOVE long manes, personally. I've been working on getting Caly's longer and it's almost as long as this boy's! But not as thick. He really has nice hair!
