My horse has strange discoloration?

So My quarter horse has an odd discoloration where the saddle is. I 'm not sure what exactly it is from, but it was there when I bought him. It is winter now and is far far worse than before. Any tips? Maybe a solution?
Thank you!

It's Sun bleaching from sweat. He'll shed out to black in the spring, you're stuck with the discoloration for now.

Make sure to get the sweat off after you work him. It's not good for him or his coat.

So his coat has become WAYY worse... It's entirely bay now??! I have been hosing off the sweat EVERY time i've worked him and for some reason his color is worse... His legs and almost his whole body is brown/bay? Any advice or a reason for this? He is a registered black.. But I'm wondering if they (the owners) died him black.. could the pattern be a scar?

Being out in the Sun for ANY time at all, no matter if he's sweaty or not, will bleach his coat. The Sun bleaches everything. Don't like it, don't put him in the Sun. But I sincerely hope that you won't stall him just for aesthetic purposes. His owners could have kept him stalled, or he could have just shed his winter coat, or just grown his winter coat depending on when you got him.

Yup-If my guy is out in the sun during the day, despite hosing after every ride-he bleaches out, and will bleach out with the saddle pattern. So-in summer he is not out during the day. Plain and simple.

Normal but it also could be the product of a zinc and/ or copper deficiency. Of course sun has some to do with it but zinc and copper deficient horses will also get a beached out coat.
