My filly had the same type of allergic reaction. It almost looked like her skin got a very serious sun burn. I was super careful to only put it on at night when it wasn't to hot/humid and wash it the following morning. Sure didn't use it after that! I guess some are just sensitive to it!

I put MTG in my horse's mane once... She got tons of dandruff like flakes and it took forever to wash out. On the other hand, it got rid of a small patch of rain rot in just a couple of days!!

I have noticed that with some horses when you first use it on them...some of them get over it and others don't. Like I said before I have used it on a dog I have that gets hotspots and that has been the only thing that helps.
