Neck Sweats

Has anyone here ever used neck sweats on horses before? If so does it actually make their neck smaller and does it keep it like that? Are there any problems or concerns I should know about if I do use one? I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Neck sweats go around a horses neck and are supposed to help thin the neck out by making it sweat.

A friend of mine uses one on her pony regularly cause he gts very large in his crest- she just uses it when he's being worked to make his neck sweat more it helps to stop his crest getting overly large- I just would be careful not to use it for too long periods of time and yes because the neck sweat keeps the heat in it does make their necks smaller- but wearing it once won't keep it that way.

The reason a horses neck gets so large is due to his diet, to much of it that is.....reduce you horses intake, also get some weight off by working him as well......most people would die for their horses necks to be larger

I believe hard work is a natural way of reducing the problem, using false impliments, you know nothing about, could lead to problems.

Pantha, regardless a the diet, many horses have large necks because of their conformation, not weight gain.
