My and my boy have an upcoming show, just a simple schooling show. But just for fun, I'd really like to do a hunter braid on him.
This video helped me a ton. I've got the basic idea of it down. But I have one problem...
I don't know how to braid. o.o.. Sad, yes. I was never taught. Is it just folding each strand of hair over the other? Is there a certain type of braid I'm going to be using for the hunter braid?

Oh my gosh has nobody ever taught you to plait!! That's a crime against equestrianism!! (I'm kidding I know lots of people who don't know how to plait)
Easy peasy, 3 strands (left, middle, right) fold left over middle (left then becomes middle) then fold right over middle (right then becomes middle) then left over middle, right over middle, and keep on going.
break into three strands - then twist two strands (One of the outside strands and the inside one) then twist the middle and the OTHER outside strand... and just think twist twist twist twist....
practice as said above - get a barbie or wool or something to practice on
Another question, that video used a french braid for the forelock. Do you HAVE to use the french braid or can you use just a normal braid? If you do have to use a french braid to make it look decent, how do you do a french braid..? xD
Erm, I would say yes, otherwise it won't look so good and it won't start where it's supposed to.
French braiding is easy it's just a normal plait that you add bits into as you go, still keeping 3 strands.
Your actually supposed to do an under french plait (you put the strands under instead of over) but you don't have to do it under, you can do it normally (I find it's easier)
