Pretty, EASY braid for THICK tails...

Just felt like sharing...

Step 1: Separate the tail into three even sections. If they're at all uneven the braid will look bad.

Step 2: Braid each section individually. These braids also need to be even.

Step 3: Braid the three braids together. Now this is the part that makes it pretty and the part that's hard to explain... Basically, the braid has to be thin and flat. You don't want it to overlap too much, because you want to be able to see the three braids so it looks intricate. I hope that makes sense.

If the loose hair at the end of the braid looks funny, you can fold it up under the braid and put electrical tape around it.

Here are some pictures, and sorry about the quality - they were taken with my cell phone:

That's so neat looking! I'll have to try that on my draft :]

By the way, the eye of the horse in your avatar is beautiful!

Thats how I do up Nicos tail before a show. Put some mousse in it while its still damp and it will hold that curl all day!

Pretty! I wish I still had my mini... my horses now don't have thick enough hair!
Which, I'm not quite sure if thats a bad thing.

I tried this with my boy...so a big thanks to you for telling us about this! It looks awesome on him, even though I was standing to the side and it wasn't straight lol. I didn't do my braids even(I never do), and I think IMHO, it looked almost better that way. You could see the definition of each braid then. =)
