Riders Rasp

Do any of you use the Riders Rasp? www.ridersrasp.com I bought one today from the tack store for $45. I used it, and it filed away a little snag that was on his hoof. Does it really help to go longer between trims?

I barefoot with a mustang roll, and know how to rasp with a regular rasp, but this was MUCH easier to use.

I've heard some really bad things about the Riders Rasp. My Farrier would kill me if I used it, wether that's because he doesn't get paid as much, or if it's bad I don't know. ;)

Fire Eyes - that's interesting. It's not as sharp as a regular rasp, but it's easier to hold on to.

Granted - I know how to rasp my horses hooves, so perhaps that's why I don't mind it?

I bought one to...I warn you the people on forums don't like them for some reason. As you and I well know it doesn't replace a farrier or a regular rasp. But I agree it is great for those little snags here and there or a quick polish.

I WISH it could replace a farrier! Haha!

I'm going to ask the farrier when he comes out next week what his opinion is...

I want one.
