I was wondering what I should do with my horse's mane. I am going to show her in english, reining and western. Right now I just do a running braid for english and leave it down for western.
Cut it or grow it out so it is more even??
P.s. Im going to have more questions but I will wait until I have the pics....
I would use Mane-Tail-Grow (M-T-G) on her so it grows really long, leave it down for reining, and do a running braid for English. Make sure you practice the running braid, though, as you don't want to be doing it for the first time at a show!

I would definitely pull the mane, not cut it...that's just my preference. I just think short manes are neater looking, and don't get in the way as much.
I'd pull it! Shortening her mane will make her neck look better, only horses with very very good toplines can get away with a long mane. If they havent got realy good topline then all a long mane does is draw the eye down and make the neck look weak!
I would leave it. Long manes look good in reining, and there's no reason to shorten it if you're going to do a running braid for english.
The only problem is WP. I supposed you could band it but it might look silly banded so short. Maybe you could like fold it in half and band it to create an illusion of a short mane? :p Idk, good luck though!
