Spring Cleanup!

Since winter has finally passed, I have been working on cleaning my horse up for 4H shows. Such as, clipping her bridle path, whiskers, etc. But, I haven't touched the feathers on her legs yet. How are you supposed to cut all the long hair off? Do you cut the long hairs with scissors first, then use the clippers to clean it up? I'm stumped....

She is a quarter horse BTW.

Yes you cut them with scissors first then use the clippers.
