tails

Hi I am going to my first rally day at pony club tomorrow & have decided to braid the horses tail (no mane as about only 2cm high). If the tail doesn't turn out, looking good then I will take it out but I wont to try. So does anyone have any tips on braiding tails?? thanks

I have always been told that if your mane is not braided your tail shouldn't be either. As far as tips, I have never been able to do a nice tail braid.

Oh ok, I guess I can't then as the girl who owns him cut off his mane & it's only just growing back.

As long as you make sure the hairs at the top of her tail are laying flat down and not sticking up you should be just fine. I use a bit of Quik Braid (a hairspary type product that we have in the US) or styling gel at the top of the tail to keep all of the hairs looking neat. Put a small amount of gel in your hands and rub down the dock to smooth out the hairs.

Does it matter? Since its only a pony club rally? My pony club doesnt care as long as you and your horse are neat and tidy. Doesnt have to be "correct" re. Plaiting coz yoo don't need to plait up anyway..

So go for it..

I use to do Pony Club, and we would get marked down for plaiting up on a Rally Day, and be less likely to get our C Certificate, so I wouldn't.
