Thick mane, how do i manage it?

My 7 year old pony has such a thick mane that it is impossible to keep it looking nice, if she rolls around once it becomes all tangled and knoted again. It takes over an hour everyday of brushing and conditioning and it hangs on both sides of her neck despite everything we do. Any suggestions, She doesn't show or anything, she is just for pleasure:) any suggestions would help thanks

I use scissors to thin out my mustangs mane. You start at the top and angle the scissors downwards and cut. It takes a bit of practice, but it worked wonders on his out of control mane.

Detangling spray works too, but I also use human hair products sparingly in his mane, like the sleek and shine products from garnier fructis.
Other than that, brushing it often and thinning it with scissors are your best bet. :)
