Using Hair Serum on you horses mane/tail?

I use hair serum on my own hair, as my hair is quite dry at the moment and it works wonders..
So I was wondering if anyone has used it on their horses manes/tails. I don't want to have to wash and condition his mane/tail all the time as it will take out all the natural oils, but as he he a really short standing up mane.. and the hairs splitting/breaking off as it gets so dry, I was thinking of trying a hair serum on it? x

I personally wouldn't just because your not suposed to wash your horses mane and tail a lot annd hair serum sometimes makes hair greasy that's just my opinion

Yep I use it all the time - only after washing but for shows and stuff

The leave in conditioners work so well.. Love the garnier one the best but they stipped making it in NZ

I use leave in conditioners, seem to have no effect on my boy. I only use it once every 2 months though but I guess you could once a month if it's that bad.

Hey guys.. I've been putting serum in it once a week, and spraying it with horsey conditioning spray, its grown loads, and is in way better condition and seems to be stopping one one side x

I use leave in creams and sprays on YA before brushing his tail and when his mane grows back out as well, but not on the roots. I live in Vegas so its really dry out here and his tail gets really dry and brittle. I find using leave in sprays to work really well, I always gets complements on my horses tail! Then when I wrap it (only when I wrap not just braid) I glob a bunch of my good leave in cream in to keep it hydrated.
