Unhappy Warmblood Arab cross mane help

Hi, I recently got a half arab half swiss warmblood 4 year old. His mane is super thick, frizzy, and long. But, I don't want to show him as an arab, I want to show him more as a warmblood. I really want to cut his mane short, but it's so thick I think it might end up looking ridiculous. For shows, I don't want to do a running braid, I want to have it where you roll it up, and put each braid in a little knot. Help please

I think you should cut it to a reasonable length a bit longer than you want it to be in the end. Next, you should pull his mane to thin it and shorten it. You are right that it is easiest to do button braids for show when the mane is thinner. If you don't already know how to, you can look up how to pull a mane on youtube, or ask someone who knows how to do it. Good luck showing your gelding!
- Please remember I have never tried this before, but I think it would work nicely. If you are doughtful, you can just pull the whole thing. It might take awhile, but it will be worth it.

If it's his first time being pulled I'd do it in a couple sessions since it is really thick. If you decide to go with pulling that is :)

I miss you Rascal. Every day, all day.

My horses mane used to be soo thick , what i did ( and this worked) take regular scissors and take a really thick part in just cut threw the middle of the mane that should thin it down , then you cut it .
