Washing Off Legs In Winter

Okay, how dry should your horses legs be before you turn them out in the winter? (Pasture Board) Would semi-damp with a blanket be okay?

If its edible - Its Gone.

I think so. When I ride in the snow, the horse's legs get wet anyways, so what's the difference?
