Water proofing blanket sprays

So, my horse blanket has lost all of its waterproofing'ness and the water seems to enjoy soaking into it. Is their a way I can make my own, safe (for my horses health) waterproofing spray for spraying on it?

I use the stuff for tents, nylon or canvas, works great if you put enough on. I usually use almost of full can on one 78" blanket. I don't use any certain brand.

Be sure to do it outside as the stuff is toxic but does the trick. I use 3M.

I've used "Camp Dry" before with good results.
