I thought I'd get smart, and braid it all to one side to help keep it on the one side (his sometimes ends up on both sides, and that drives me nuts!) and to keep it from getting tangled up with goodness knows what. I went away for a few days, and received emails from my BO saying that Jag had been rubbing his head and neck on the fences a lot, and there had been some strands of hair left behind. I thought nothing of it, and went out when I got home to find that half his mane had been torn away on the fences. I just about died.
Frizzy, kinked, and only half of his mane remaining, Jag stood proudly in front of me and nickered while I tumbled through a million profanities in my head.
"THAT'S IT!" I thought, and took him into the barn. I had a brilliant idea. "I'll teach him to bugger with his mane" I thought.
So I took scissors and just started snipping. And somehow it ended up like this:
