Omigosh... 300? Ugh... I've been using my trainers tail this year... I have to buy one next summer... lucky for me my horse has a black tail so I think I can get one pretty cheap....

I think you are supposed to do to the mane whatever discipline the horse excels at, if it's english, braid it... if it's western, band it... plaiting it would work for an all around horse I think... right?

Thanks...I just got a book on mane and tail dos...Im going to band Dudes mane later.

I love seeing western horses with long flowing manes and tails. I don't mind seeing the tails leveled out. I hate seeing them cut 2-3 inches. Than again maybe I'm biased because all of the horses I've been around have nice long, flowing manes and sometimes tails.
