What is best kind of mane pulling comb?

Its getting to that time, first horse, first mane pulling. What is the best type of comb, metal, plastic, with handle, without, small, medium, didn't realize there would be so many types so I'm not sure what would work best, he has a pretty long and thick mane right now.
Thanks for any help.

For years I've used an inexpensive aluminum mane comb. It is a wide stubby comb. It is never used for combing the mane as it will break the hair but is excellent for pulling the mane. Grab 4 hairs, wrap around comb and yank. If you take much more the horse will object and start moving around.

Thank you very much. I have seen those and thanks for the advice on how much hair to do at one time, that helps a lot so it doesn't bother him, my horse sure thanks you. :)

I use a metal pulling comb for thinning and a cheater's comb for shortening.

Okay, you gotta tell me what is a "cheater's comb"? What does it look like?

Lol, that's the name my trainer gives this tool. I'm not sure if there is a proper name or not.

I can't really describe how it works very well, but you grab a few pieces of mane, and (the length you want) use the jagged part to cut it off. It looks more natural, that's why my hunter barn likes to use it.

I use a $0.89 pulling comb from dover. They have one that has a handle but I have the one without the handle. I love it! Works great and is really cheap which is always a plus with me!
