What to do with his tail?

I have a show coming up, and I have a POA gelding whose tail is mostly black, but it has some white strands in it (because he's spotted). It's also thin, a little bleached out at the bottom. I want it to look neater and fuller, so should I use some Shapley's touch up on it? In black? Or would it look tacky since his tail has some white strands in it?
Here's a pic just in case it helps:

It's an old pic from April, but he looks the same, except not shaggy.

You can always invest in tail extensions, they have tail extensions that are black with white strands.

I would totally do that if I showed him more, but he's still being trained for pleasure stuff so I'm not showing him much yet. Thanks!!

MY mare has white throughout her whole body and tail
I'd totally recommend Shapely's. I love it!
