Thanks. I've decided to grow it out. Except last night when I went out to see her, apparently her little gelding pal that she hangs out with in the field decided to eat part of her tail.. -face palm-
A good eight inches of it have been chewed off and now the Harley (the gelding) is on colic watch because it was no where to be found and we have to assume its in his stomach as a giant gross hairball.

Speaking of grooming, this my first grey horse. Are there any cleaning products that will get her looking sparkling and gorgeous instead of dusty and roan? It's been raining her and I swear she goes swimming in puddles. Also I have a lot of time to groom her while I recover from the dislocated shoulder and fractured collar bone that remind me of last time I rode her.

I've heard cowboy/quik silver or something like that is good? But I've learned not to trust reviews on tack websites. I think they are rigged.

I always used Vetrolin shampoo and conditioner on my flea bitten grey gelding that I used to have. His mane and tail and body were all practically solid white and this shampoo allowed them to stay that way. Worked wonders for me and I reccommend it to anyone who asks.

love it - def do not pull!!! Like others said those breeds are allowed (and should) show hunters w/o a pulled mane. Same with dressage and all other disciplines based on the breed standards you don't pull. You can do a running braid or the macrame braid.
