Question What should I do with my andalusian's mane for a halter class?

I decided to show my andalusian mare in a schooling halter class show just for fun this weekend. I am contemplating whether or not I should leave her mane and forelack natural and down (they are fairly long) or if I should braid them or band them? Any opinions? Thanks!

P.S-It is the mare in my avatar...

I have seen it done in a french braid way that looks really good. Let me see if I can find a photo somewhere.

I need to know what to do with my horse too :( I had no response in the showmanship section....she has a dinky forelock and don't know if I should band it off the side or leave it and her mane is no like 3.5" I am guessing. Should I band it or gel it and for her tail I am leaving down but should I add some shiny stuff too it or gel it...she doesn't have tuffs stinking out everywhere...it lays down flat....oh and would it be bad to flat iron her mane amd forelock? I heard some people do that.
