I own a small chain of dog grooming shops and this is a little trick that is VERY helpfull.I don't know if this is something that any of you know of but its a nice tip.

If you attach one of these

To the end of your hose and mix it 3 parts water and 1 part shampoo depending on how strong the shampoo is already. You do not have to pre rince your horse. Also you do not have to scrub. The blast on the water mixed with the shampoo wil penatrate the dirt and hair.I know its natural for you to want to get in there and scrub but you don't need to.Also you don't have to use that much shampoo as long as you see bubbles your good. The dial on top will allow you to adjust the concentration for really dirty jobs. When you get the horse suds up take it off and rinse.

Try it its fun and you can't hurt your back reaching and bending. And for those that have a ton of horses this will help you in the end.

I use an EZ All Foamer with their Body Wash, same concept basically but the shampoo doesn't have to be diluted.

It does work fabulously though, I love it!

I just don't feel like it would get her clean enough. My horse is a black and white paint, and her white is a TRUE white, her black a TRUE black, and she gets "pressure" washed with the hose, then I rub shampoo in with my hands, then a big curry comb, then a little curry comb, followed by more "pressure" washing. Maybe it's a lot of work, but it's something I like to do. My filly, on the other hand, this would be great for her until she learns to be patient. =]

Thanks for the tip. I was at TSC looking at the hose sprayers made for horse use and went and picked up one out of the garden section to use, but I wasn't sure about the shampoo to water ratio. I was going to play around with it now I don't. Thanks again.

I've used one of those foamy things (I don't think it was that brand, though), and I was VERY happy with it. I didn't think it would get my horses very clean, but it really did. When I pet them after they dried, it felt like I had been scrubbing the shampoo into their coat for hours. It's really amazing.

As far as the shampoo it really depends on what you using but I always start with three to one.

I have one of the EZall foamers as well. At $30 one of the garden sprayers has to be cheaper. I haven't used it on the dogs yet but I plan to.

When my EZ sprayer broke, I went to the garden section at lowes and bought one of those sprayers/diluters for 6 or 7 dollars..works the same if not better.
