Ah nothing against braiding, I just hate trying to get the bands out after a week or two's time, LOL.

Got to admit tho, the other poster with the masking tape, that don't sound to bad. Prob wont hold up well come winter tho, or lot of rain.

If you have a stubborn band, just snip it with a small pair of scissors.

I am braiding the yearling's (2 I'm training)manes and tails now, because fall here in AZ is WINDY!!! They both have really nice long manes, so I hate to cut it off; but I just braid once or twice a week. Condition it when I rebraid, or wash and condition, if it's nice enough.

You could just do a running braid rather than individual braids? I don't know how well it would stay, but that would save time and only one elastic to worry about. Maybe just try a running braid and the first time check it after a day or two to see that it's not all fallen out or the elastic is tangling?
That's my only thought there. I've always used baby oil in past to get burr's and tangles out. :) Good luck!!
