Ace is easily resisted. My mare dosent respond well to it. If you have given shots yourself before, you don't need a vet to give it. But only the owner should be administering a Rx drug, if not the vet. But be aware that sedative work fast intraveinously then intramuscularly, so you may be poking around for the vein. My mare is the same way, since moving to the new barn she's been horrible for the farrier. I think he's actually doing a better job then the last farrier. I think the problem is she keeps ripping shoes off and getting her hoof soar, right before he comes out to fix her up.
