my mare just had her foal about a week ago. the foal is rather big, as you can see in my default picture, and she took a lot of nutrients from my mare Summer. i don't want to feed her any more cause she is very round in the belly still. and i wouldn't want to risk her to founder. is there a suppliment that is healthy for a foal and lactating mare!?!? please help. i want both my horses 100% healthy!!
beat pulp should help! Its consists of alot of water and should really help her to have lots of nutrients for the baby. Walking around your horse too will help her get excersize and her baby will get use to going places with mommy. Great for everyone!
Talk to your vet at proper deworming for her, just to make sure her round belly isn't from parasites.
I would give her a general vitamin supplement, like Select II or GrandVite. That will help make up for any lack of viatmins or minerals in her hay and/or feed. SmartVite Mare might be a good one too, SmartVite Mare - Multi-Vitamin Supplements from SmartPak Equine
