Is 12 yr. old OTTB Old for Barrel Racing? How Long do Thoroughbreds Live?

My TB is 15(well technically will be 15 on june 8th) and has no signs of slowing down anytime soon. I don't think 12 is old at all. I have an arab/qh who is in his late 30's to early 40's so I kinda think they should all live that long lol. I actually think my TB would be good at barrel racing. When she is being a brat I go around the arena doing small circles every which way, I only do it at the trot but she turns very well for a TB

Also, joint issues will depend on how hard the horse was raced, mine was raced fairly lightly and has never been lame in the 2 years i've had her
