The vet prescribed bute until Wednesday. He's going to come take blood Wednesday if there hasn't been any imrpovement. He said the last time he saw this it was some sort of liver malfunction. I am now more worried than before.

My vet said the same thing to another boardee.. don't panic. Just keep cold hosing and hand walking and keep him on bute. Breathe.. you guys can get through this. Worrying isn't going to help the situation or your horse in any way :'/ The best you can do is just keep taking good care of him.

I don't know about liver disease. You said no fever, no heat etc. A horse presenting with liver disease would most likely have jaundice, they have bouts of colic, and photosensativity.
Your horse is simply stocked up with no other symptoms. Hope your vet is wrong.
