Casey's lips are permanently stained green from grass. How attractive- grass stains on her lips!

How do you figure that a 40lb bag of cubes is equal to a bale of hay ?
The max I can feed out of a 40lb bag of cubes is 4 days and that would be for the easy easy keeper. The hay bales last about 5-6 depends on the bale size ranged 100 - 130 lb per bale. just wondering how you stretch that bag out??

We feed our boys Alfalfa cubes with their complete feed, apples, carrots and whole flax seeds. We soak the cubes in hot water before hand (only takes about 5 minutes-the cubes just disolve!). The boys seem to think they are getting a royal treat.!

I use cubes and honestly don't soak them. Both horses do fine with them.

Haha- well apparently Casey can choke on a handful of pellets and one broken up cube, so I will be sticking to soaking it!

I have a friend who only feeds dry cubes, been doing it for around 10 years, never a choking incident. Depends on the horse..

Sorry about the confusion: I had read that when I was researching and it stuck in my head.
