Back Injury? HELP NEEDED

Hi, I have a question for ya'll. I bought Poco last fall. My plans with him are barrel racing. He has been wonderful since I got him but yesterday, there was an incident. I went to put the saddle on him and was getting up to get ready to ride. The instant I sat on him, he went down in the front. I started to feel him wobble so I got off. When I took the saddle off, I noticed that his spine was really warm and tender on the middle of the back and back. He wasn't putting an weight on the left back leg. When I had a friend of mine come to check to see if the saddle fit, she found that his right shoulder wasn't as developed as the other side and saw that it was sore. We did find out that the saddle that I had on him didn't fit him correctly, the gullet wasn't high enough and the front of the tree was hugging his withers, but more filled out in the back. Ok? When I asked him to walk, there was so much effort to do that. I did get to the vet to get him bute, so he is now on medicine to get rid of the flare up. After I started to talk to the lady that helped with the saddle fitting, she started thinking that since the right shoulder wasn't as developed as the other side, and since the saddle didn't fit right, which is a FQHB, that maybe the saddle moved all over and wasn't evenly balanced causing the pain, and because my balance isn't perfect yet, this was a causing factor. But the funny thing, he had an incident before with a different rider and saddle, and threw her. The spot that was warm and sore yesterday was the same spot last summer that he was sore when he threw her. Any suggestions would help a whole lot. Tack suggestions? Health suggestions? Thank you very much.

I would have the vet out to check him, or atleast a well knowledged trainer. My Arabian had a back injury 4 years ago, and I'm still working on bringing him back to 100%. This is something that you do not want to chance! Once bad move and you could ruin him. If he gets oked by the vet, then start looking for a saddle. Try different pads too, borrow your friends tack to see how that works, and also have the same woman double check it.
Good luck!
