Im in the same boat too. Where my horses are has barb wire because it used to be a cattle farm. Not my property so i have to deal with it not being replaced. Thankfully i haven't had to many injuries from it. Shaggy did get his leg snagged on it once while it was rolling and of course Blaze running threw it and nearly severing his hoof off(pic of it in the million dollar wounds thread if anyone is interested lol), along with a multitude of other cuts all over him. Hopefully no more injuries will come from it til we get our own place! *knocks on wood*

Talking to your horse is sometimes all the therapy you need.

We rent 10 acres from a little old lady. We've been there for 7 years, and in all those 7 years I've never had a horse run through the fence, get tangled in the fence, or be badly hurt by the fence. My mare is clumsy and will come in with a nick every now and then, but my pony is meticulous about what comes near him be it fence, mud, or me. Our horses respect the fence, so I see no problem with it. We're not going to replace the whole fence only for her to sell the property or her pass away and her family sell the property.
