Baseline exams?

In the spring, when my horse comes back from vacation and we have no more snow, I'd like to get a baseline exam done on her, including x-Rays. I did not do a prepurchase exam because I had promised her a home whether she was sound or not.

In her 19 years of life she has certainly worked for her dinner as she was a reining horse and lesson horse. Im hoping it can give me some insight on what to expect now and in the future, what my options are to prevent and alleviate any problems issues she has now. I'd also like to have her blood drawn to see if she is deficiencies, which is pretty common in this area.

Are there any other tests I should ask the vet to run?

What is an approximate on how much I'm looking at spending? I'm on Long Island, NY for reference so I know everything is going to be a little more.

I think a good example is my horse who was discovered during a PPE (very basic) to have an old DDFT injury and a very slight heart murmer.

For me, that doesn't mean anything, for a horse with Rolex potential it obviously would.

So while he was still perfectly suitable for my needs I am VERY glad to know just to know and also to manage as needed. (Wrap legs when working for example).

I have a non-issue heart murmer myself so it really doesn't matter.

It's good to know though so I think you will be glad to do this.

For specific advice I don't really have any though :P

If you have ANY questions or concerns make a note though, you can also ask her conformationally "could this cause issues" though at 19 I think if it was "yes" you'd being seeing that already.
