Beardless Barley Hay?

Just a note to see if anybody has any input of using beardless Barley hay for horse feed. I'm on my way in the morning to pick up four tons. I 've checked the net but can't really find any thing negative on it. The info (tho slim) I have found states it's supposed to be a good hay feed source for horses?

We have always fed timothy or orchard grass hay in the past. But I'm giving this a try. I cracked a bale and took a sample for my horses and they seem to love it! This hay is running around 9% protein. Lab tested. We just use our horses for our hobby of trail riding and horse camping.

Any thoughts or comments especially from current users are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
