Beet pulp going hand in had with alfalfa cubes

Hello everyone I've been pondering the idea of feeding my 4 geldings beet pulp shreds with alfalfa cubes along with there normal ration of 14% MFA pellets. My main goal is to save my hay supply for the winter and give them some alternative forage in their diets. My heard consists of a 3 year old thoroughbred stud colt, non training. A 6 year old quarter horse gelding, full time barrel and occasional roping and sorting horse. A 16 year old quarter horse gelding ridden mostly on trails and finally a 6 year old quarter horse gelding who is also just a trail horse. My horses get fed twice a day each gelding recieving 6lbs of feed a day and the colt gets 5lbs of nutrena prime a day. They have some grass as of now buy slowly dying with winter approaching and they currently have a round bale in the field at all times, along with salt and fresh water of course. I've done plenty of research on beet pulp and alfalfa cubes just I have never fed these to my horses. I'm initially posting this on here to see if anyone has ever had any problems, opinions or questions. The horses will get fed the appropriate rations according to body weight and physical activity. Thank you for reading!

Great plan! I never had any issues. I use beet pulp pellets and soak it. So I don't know anything about shreds.
For your round bale I would consider a slow feed net. You can save costs on hay big time and its good for them too. My round bales are 1600 lbs and lasts 4.5 horses just under 2 weeks with the net. They love it and prefer to eat from the slow feeders.

I feed a beet pulp/Timothy cubes (soaked) to my old guy with no problems. He loves getting his " green mush" everyday.
