?bowed tendon in my 8 mth old filly

I have an 8 mth old filly who we suspect has a bowed tendon (back). I've box rested her for 6 weeks and I'm now awaiting an ultrasound scan. She doesn't seem to be improving much- although I'm incredibly impatient ! I've read that thermagel and other gels/liquids could help. Does anyone have any experience of using these on such a young horse ? Thank you

If a vet has not been out they need to be out. The real thing that is going to help is time.
