Bowel Cancer and Irritable Bowel Disorder

Hi There

I need some help!!! TB gelding is 22yrs old and has just come home from the vet :( .... he had a biopsy and I get the results at the end of the week the vet said its either IBD(Irritable Bowel Disorder) or Bowel Cancer
:( ..... I just want to know if anyone else has had or has a horse with either of these hoping anf praying its IBD as this can be treated...he is my baby and im really worried about the results...any info or help would be much appreciated.....

I have nothing for you but my prayers. I hope its something cureabLe/treatable. I would feel the same way as my mare is my everything! Let us know when you know on the diagnosis

Hi Guys,

The results came back last friday...and its Irritable Bowel Disorder (phew!) although its still not good at least it wasnt cancer as I know the end result for that :( .... he is on medication and is expected to make a full recovery..... :) heart was in my mouth for a long time!!! Thanks for the support guys :)

I'm so glad it's a best case scenario!! Out of curiosity, what medication is he on? Here's hoping for a very speedy full recovery, so glad it wasn't the other option!
