    Broken tooth!

    Oh no!
Somehow apollo broke his incisor.. We don't know how it happend there is nothing he can really injure himself on that we found in his paddock. We suspect maybe he did it in the pasture yesterday.. How I don't know but anyway...

The vet will be here tonight but she said she will most likely have to pull it it's pretty ugly.. But she will try to save it. Has anyone ever had an incisor pulled? She said he may have to get floated more often, but since he is so young when his last teeth come in they could close the gap also. He is 4 1/2

We found out kind of strange, the BO told me he started neighing at her and kicking his barn door so she walked over and he literally lifted his lip and showed her where the hay had gotten stuck. :(((

It's really not that big of a deal. Since horses 'speak' with teeth and hooves, it happens more frequently than one might realize.

We've boarded several horses with broken teeth. Unless they develop an infection, the tooth will typically grow out.

    I hope so!

I hope so! Poor guy. He was still being a sweetie when I went to check on him. He just keeps lifting his lip like "hey look what I did" I gave him a carrot and he hate it fine and we walked him around and he was grazing... It just looks horrendous...

I hope he doesn't make a habit of lifting his lip like that to everyone.. It was kind of funny. Everyone was worried and they had all come up to pat him and he showed every single person, multiple times. What a weirdo.

    Got pulled...

So, he pulled his tooth loose enough to disturb the blood flow it needed to keep it healthy. Probably happend a few days to a week ago it just now really started to bother him.
It was pretty cool to watch her pull it out! Came out nice and clean and he will be better in about 2 days.

Overall he is in perfect condition and says I work so well with him and we are a great match. Yay!
