Bump on neck????

Today I was brushing my mare and on the opposite side of her mane is like a ball, it doesn't stick out or anything I can just feel it when I run my hand across it!!! It's in the middle at the top of her neck, i thought it might just be something all horses have but I checked my gelding and colt and they don't have one. Does anyone have an idea what this is? And it's hard.

When I still had my mare she used to be really sensitive to fly bites, and sometimes they would swell up on her neck and girth area, but go away after a few days. It could be that, but I'm no vet.

Does it feel like hard muscle or is it fatty/swollen?

I would def. have her checked by a chiropractor. She may be out and its causing her muscle to tense and build up in that one area where she is trying to compensate from pain.
