Care of a horse after bone chip is surgically removed?

We recently found out that my 6 year old mare has a bone chip. She is getting surgery to remove the bone chip. The barn manager is not sure what the vet will say as far as recovery care goes after the surgery. And out of curiousity...I would like to know what I could possibly expect. For those of you who have had experience with horse's care after the bone chip surgery....what kind of after care instructions has the vet given you after the surgery is done? No turnout? Stall rest? Etc. etc.
