Ok, so I ordered this blanket for my horse.

Do you think it will be to heavy? I'm hoping not, cause I don't like returning things. Take into mind I live in Minnesota and it rarely is about 20 degrees December-March/April

where do you live? thats the same thickness i use on my horses and we get very mild winters really because we live in the tropics. its perfect for the weather here

I don't think it would be too heavy, but how thick is his coat? I have a pony with a fairly thick coat and his blanket is 240. It only gets about 10-20 F here at the coldest (maybe a little colder with the wind chill?). It's never made him remotely sweaty, but he always seems pretty warm under it. I'd be more concerned about the 640 d outer layer. I think anything under 1000 d rips fairly easily.

you might actually need a heavier one - - we use that fill here...in Georgia

Well at least I didn't order something TO heavy. My horse actually has a REALLY thin coat, and rarely gets a "heavy coat" for the winter, because he's constantly groomed.
